Default Poll: For those with turbos, when you had a boost leak, where did you find it?

I've already replaced the L hose, and intake to DV nipple line with Shep1.8T, but still can't find the leak.

So tell me, where was your leak?

Default In my years here it's been common in these places...

I know it's been said, but if you don't have a boost gauge... get one! It could be issues other than the turbo...

Hoses from turbo, to IC and to intake (But they usually come *off* and leak--but sometimes have a small tear.)

Wastegate assembly (The "flapper" in the exhaust housing 9 out of 10 times it seems)

Faulty N75 valve.

Bad computer chip/soldering on chip.

Worst case, bad compression/bent valves etc.

I have one on order from AWE, actually. Thanks, I'm going to look into as soon as I get my gauge.

Default ;) I would put $$ on it being the wastegate flapper (that's my technical term for it!)

Maybe not though, you were saying it was not consistent?

Default Its consistant, and you can hear it hiss in the IC/intake/TB area. I'm pissesd because I haven't had

time to really look for it. Better not be my wastegate, as my turbo only has about 22,000 miles on it.

Default Pressure test the IC and hoses? If you can hear it hissing it's most likely not the W.G.

Maybe though.

I would bet it's a hose/bad seal on the throttle body or your intercooler. It take a very very little leak to cause a problem and lack of boost.

Default Did you order the a-pillar model? If so, I would be interested in how the install goes in reference

to the pod itself. I'm not very proud of my install. The pod itself is cheap and is not formed properly. I just need to sit down an figure out something better.
