Default Pop/Clunk from rear drivers side suspension

Here's my problem:

Whenever my rear shock compresses fully, I hear a popping/clunking sound from the shock area. This includes going over speedbumps or any other dip in the road that would cause the shock to compress fully. I can reproduce this symptom by jumping in my trunk with another person. It doesn't appear to be any sort of rubbing with the wheel or control arm.

Here's my setup:

H&R Sport Springs, Bilstein Sport Shocks, Neuspeed 19mm rear anti-swaybar (I've tried both settings). I've had this setup for a little over 1 year, and the symptoms have been occuring for about 3 months.

Here's what I've tried:

- Replacing/Greasing swaybar bushings.
- Changing swaybar setting from "stiff" to "medium".
- Completely disconnecting swaybar.
- Inspected control arm bushings (appears to be normal).
- Checking for any loose bolts (doesn't appear to be any).

None of these have had any affect on the symptoms.

I'm going to try removing the shock/spring assembly next and checking that out. I'm not sure what other options I have. The dampening doesn't appear to be abnormal, and I don't see any oil or other residue on the shock body.

Has anyone else had these symptoms? If so what was the problem?

Thanks....

Default Looks like you're on the right track...

when you remove the shock, look at the piston and the top mount on the shock. Sometimes the piston can separate, and you'll get a clunking sound as a result. Hell, throw an OEM shock on there to see if the sound still occurs.

Also, compare the width of the top mount on the OEM shock to the Bilstein. If the Bilstein is significantly narrower, it might be rattling around inside the strut tower.
