possible coilover problem?

I found this today on my coilovers. Notice in the first picture (drivers side) that the spring is flush with the spring perch and clips on the perch. The second picture (passengers side) looks different. The spring seems to be "off track" on the perch. Is this a problem?

if the top of the spring is not seated correctly (which is doesnt look like it is...)

that could be a problem. Before removing the KOs to redo it, I would put the car up on a jack (so the bad KO is fully extended) and possibly use a rubber mallet to punch it back into place. I know there isnt much room in there to work, so you might have to be creative. You havent heard any "clunking" noises, or anything of that nature?

yes, I do have a clunking noise. That's what made me check the suspension today. In the pictures I posted the car is on jack stands. The spring seems to be quite compressed in spite of not having the wheel on the ground. I'll take a mallet to it and see what happens
