Problem Installing Starter! HELP!

Hey guys and ladies,
It was a pain get the starter out of my '00 A4 Quattro but got it out. I went to start it and nothing is happening at all. No trying to turn over ,nothing. Anything you can think of? I charged the batter and is full. Could I have hooked up the wires wrong? I hooked the two wires from the selenoid right. Then there's one wire with two connections coming from left side of the car. I hooked one into the screw with the one coming from the selenoid. The other wire I connected to the metal bracket connected to the two screws connected to the starters body. That bracket that attaches to the two screws off the starter I could not attach the bracket to the frame. It would not line up. It's touching and not moving.

PLEASE HELP!

you have a problem installing the starter or removing it?

or testing it to see if it works?

Double check the ground clip that plugs onto the starter. There are 2 plugs

1 works and the other doesn't.

Installing.

I'm having a problem installing it. The bracket that attaches to two two screwson the back of the starter and attach to the frame. Where do you put the wires that come from the left side of the car that are one wire but two connections? Not the ones above the starter that barely touch the starter, I believe are from the selenoid. I put the one at the top with the wire from the selenoid to the main powerof the starter and the other attached to the one screw on the right on the starter attached to the bracket. Very hard to explain. I really hope it helps!

I put it on the left side where other was..

and it snapped in. What should I do to make sure it's in place?
I edited the post it because i realized I put it on the left side like the one that was in before.

I'll try it but is the wire hooked up wrong..

the wire not coming from the selenoid? So I have something else to try. I'm thinking it's a ground. Anything I can use to make sure the clip is connected properly? It snapped in.

SMOKE!!!

This sucks bad! On the right plug I found out is the ground but on the previous starter it did not have one. So I made a clip and ran the wire to the black wire coming from underside of the car, same wire branches off and is connected to the brackets and starter on the backside of the starter. BUT when I connected the battery and charged the battery smoke came from the starter!!!!!!! Am I suppose to have that black wire coming from underneath the left side of the car connected to the starters large bolt ? or connected to the clip? I really appreciate some help!
