Okay, when you do this movement does the opposite wheel move a like amount and does the steering wheel also move? If all of that moves in unison without slop I'm stumped. If, however, only one component moves i.e. the wheel you have grasped, while the other two components remain fairly still, then I suggest it may be your tie rod ends. If those are tight then I suppose the next place to look is the steering rack. These tie rod ends are fairly simple to replace. Then you will need to re-align. The steering rack is another story. I'm not sure how to go about solving that if it is the culprit.
