Default Question about APR's ECMS chip

Some people advocate getting a spare ECU to swap in for dealer service. With the ECMS chip, can you just switch to the "stock" program instead? Will the dealer detect it short of taking it out to look at it? To me, this would be one of the biggest advantages of this technology.

Default '99.5 isn't drive by wire...

...'00 was the first year for DBW.

Actually, for non-DBW cars, it might be possible to use the PC cable ($99 extra from APR) to reprogram an EMCS ECU back to the stock programming before service. Afterwards, use the cable again to restore the good stuff.

Just a thought -- personally, I'm going to get a spare ECU, just in case the dealership decides to take a closer look at the computer. I'm paranoid; but, just because I *think* that AoA is out to get me doesn't mean that they are not!

Default Accelerator pedal is just an input to the computer which then decides amount to open the throttle.
