question about short shifters
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/44185/bm.jpg"></center><p>a friend of mine just installed a bm ss in his 98. its leaning a bit left right now. he is going to adjust it so its straight, but is it doing any harm to his differentials or gears leaning like this?

Only if it's leaning far enough to make putting it in gear hard.
Leaning to the left, so if 1st and or 2nd are hard to get into gear because off interference, you can do damage to your tranny (more like excessive wear on the gears, its still bad). I had to mess with my Strat twice to get it just right, been in the car for a year now with zero issues.
