Default Question to anyone who knows *exactly* where to place jack stands...

The dealer gave me the wrong sized cv boot and I have to leave it overnight until I can get the new part (hopefully tomorrow morning). I've done hours of research of where to put the jack stands in A4s and I have not gotten a concrete answer. Where is it safe to place jackstands in the front? It has to be strong enough to hold the car w/o the jack. I'm currently using the metal piece to which the lower links attach. However, when I lower the car on stands, that piece seems to flex. I'm leaving the car overnight on two scissor jacks (one in front, one in rear) and two stands as safety backup in front (not resting on them) Is that lower piece the right place? If not, where is it and did I do damage the way I did it?

Also, when I lift just the front, the rear end lifts relatively high. If the car is left like this for a long time (overnight?) can the frame or anything else be damaged if the rear is not supported?

TIA for your help. I didn't have any problems with lift points on my Eclipse, but this car is a little more expensive and it's not clear what points to use. Oh, and the manual does *not* tell you the stand points.

Please let me know as I'll be leaving in about an hour and will not come back 'till tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Default I use the standard jack points under the body...

I've used my floor jack and still had room to get a stand under. You can easily place stands under the jackpoint if you use the OEM jack.

I use a Craftsman 3ton jack and a wooden spacer, no space for stands.

Default Try using the OEM jack...

I have the same 3 ton jack that you do, but I use my smaller 1 ton when I put it on the stands. Just enough room to lift it and then place the stand under.

So what you're all telling me is that there are no alternative jack points?
