Default question on how to downshift
i was just curious because i just read an article about down shifting and it seems im doing it wrong and could my drivetrain or engine or both for that matter. was wondering if anyone could give me a quik over view of the right technique. i own a 98 a4 2.8 5 speed with the original clutch at 113000 miles.... now thats original.. josh

Default What i do is...
Push clutch in, select lower gear, blip throttle to rev match, release clutch.

Default Need practice
- Lift off gas
- depress clutch
- downshift gear
- blip gas to match RPM to next lwoer gear
- engage clutch
