Questions about boost difference w/ cone and flat filters and vacuum diagrams...
I had a K&N cone filter in my car. With my TAP Stage II chip I was making 18lbs boost. With my Neuspeed 1.3 bar chip I was making 15-16lbs boost.
I just put a K&N flat filter in last night. With both the TAP and Neuspeed 1.3bar filter, I make 10-12lbs of boost. THAT"S IT!
Does anybody know why this is? The power difference feels significant, but it does drive smoother with the flat filter.
Also, all the vacuum lines have been replaced and I'm not sure if they were hooked up correctly. Does anybody have diagrams of how it should be on a 1997 1.8T?
