Default Questions on Greddy Turbo Timer Install...

Does anyone have pics of the Greddy Turbo TImer install in a 2001 A4 1.8tq...
Which of the fuses in the A4 keeps the engine running?
Do the install instructions in the FAQ work on a 2001 A4?
Has anyone been able to perform the same function with a timer and still keep the alarm working?

Default James R's excellent FAQ address all those concerns...

however, i'd like to know of a way to have the radio shut off as well.

Default Yes...

Follow the FAQ in the Tech Section. James did a very good job of answering all your questions in that document. I used it as a guide and my factory alarm still works fine in my 2001. I have a couple of shots of my install at home, and will post them this evening.

I borrowed Agravic's idea and installed my timer above the glovebox, behind the lid. (You cannot see the timer when the glovebox is closed.) It's the cleanest install available, if you ask me. I didn't have to modify the timer or its housing the way Agravic did. Instead, I reshaped the back of the glovebox latch cover ever so slightly. This was better for me because it's a $14 replaceable part, and you can't see the minor difference unless you put your head *IN* the glovebox. The timer stays completely intact, in its housing.

Default I think our display angle is slightly different...

my housing would have gotten in the way with the angle of the display i used. i forget whether it was the lower portion of the glovebox or the dash.
that's why i had to remove it all together.

it sure does look nice tho. i didn't get to see yours that night. next time. =)

Default It's pretty much identical, I think... (m)

I'll put up a picture tonight... Thanks again for the idea and the FAQ on it.

Follow the FAQ, but you still may need some help. You'll probably need a test light to find the constant ignition wire and just be sure to double check everything before you do any soldering. I installed a Greddy in my 01 using the FAQ. It was a pain in the ace, but it was worth it.
