i m looking into a used 98 A4 1.8, used had its turbo replaced bc the older one was shot, it was replaced under the factory warranty. Would i expect to see future problems with this turbo? or is it a mute point bc the turbo is now brand new.

Many 98 had a problem with the waste gate actuator rod failing, it might have been the cause of the replacement of your turbo. If so, the failure was not cause by abuse and the new turbo should have corrected that weakness.
