Default quick question, need help with hid install...

i am in the process of installing my d2s bulbs and ballasts into my halogen housings, now my question is this... i have all the dremeling and what not done and it fits perfect but i am still unsure of how to get the ballasts hooked up to the power source (my car is an 00 a4 just to let you know) now i have the two wires from the ballast and am wondering if i have to cut the two wires that go to the bulb on the normal h7 and attach the 2 wires from the ballast in place of the bulb socket. if this is the case, which wire on the casing is + (brown or red). if my description doesnt suffice i took a couple pics that i will post also

Default Pics of HID setup and wiring recommendations.

I did the HID install on my 00 A4 as well. I didn't feel like doing all the dremmel stuff, so I just zip tied my ballast behind the headlamp. As far as the wiring, I didn't do any cutting. I simply crimpped 2 male wire ends on my ballast wire and inserted them into the female brown and red where the previous H7 used to plug in. It's nice and snug, so when I sell the car, it will be easy to remove.

There are two reasons why I didn't use the ballast holder on the bottom of the headlamp.
1. I didn't want to have to cut/mod the headlamp. Doing so could allow moisture to enter unless it is properly sealed.

2. I don't keep a car for more than a year, and I don't want to have to take the entire headlamp out to remove the ballast when I sell the car.

I want to see your pics of the final product.
My wiring was a little different. The Pos coming off the ballast was Yellow and the Neg was Brown. My headlamp wiring was the same as yours. I got more pics and more information if you need it.
