radiator fan bolt reverse thread?
I am changing the alternator on my 2001 A4 (1.8t). Is the radiator fan bolt (8 mm allen, behind the pulley) reverse thread or not?
I am trying to loosen the bolt by putting an allen wrench in the pulley holes to keep it from spinning. I have not been able to loosen the bolt, and I am now wondering if the threads are reversed. Some posts say it is not reverse threaded, while others say yes, it is reverse thread, but that may only apply to other engines (i.e. 2.8). Could someone please give me a definitive answer? I'm about to buy the spanner wrench (audi tool 3212) if I can't figure it out because I'm breaking allen wrenches left and right...
