Default Rained this morning

So it rained all night and into this morning. I get in my car and head to work. I noticed that something smelled. Then I heard a squish. My carpets were soaked. All more doors were closed and windows up. This had happened bofore and I thought I left my door crakced or a window down. The only think I can think of is when I had power and rca wires ran to my truck. They are under the plastic trim behind the door sill. Is there a seal that may of been removed during installation? I can't recall wet carpets before the install. Also it's only on the drivers side, front and back. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

thanks,
kevin

Default yep, this has happened before when people install stereo systems and such

usually they misplace the weatherstrip to install the wires and don't place it back properly, leading to water leaking into the cabin. this is a common problem for people who tamper with the door sills, etc.

Default should be an easy fix.. look for obvious missplaced weatherstripping...

then go thru and check everything that's not so obvious.. you're taking on quite a bit of water there, so its running in from somewhere, check to see if the wires running thru the cabin or thru the firewall arent allowing water to drain right into your car, instead of in its usual channel...

Default no idea, it's never happened to me.. should be relatively easy though

you just gotta figure out what you took apart and put it back together the correct way.

Default depending on where they ran the power line

if they used the gromlet make sure its siliconed correctly. Mine leaked too when it rained.

Default Check under the hood to see where the ran the power wire, if they did it through the hood release...

make sure they filled the rest of the hole in with a gromet or some sort of silicon sealer. I did that and after I pulled my system out I forgot to put the old gromet back in and the next day i got in and squish squash, it really sucked. anyway good luck
