Ran into Fuel Pump Problem
So, here's the story. I replaced the fuel filter and noticed it was the original fuel filter. 12 years old, 140,000 miles on it. That being said, I figured the fuel pump most likely wasn't doing so well. So I then bought a fuel pump from ECSTuning.com for $85. Cheap, so I went with it.
I went to replace the Fuel Pump and noticed when I got everything apart, that the fuel pump bracket inside of the fuel tank was busted up. I can't get the fuel pump out. I'm going to try again this weekend, and see where it gets me. I called a local Performance shop and they said that I will most likely have to replace the entire fuel tank. Tank ($85 for a used one) + Labor gets me to atleast $800.
Does anyone have an idea of what I should do to get it out of the tank, and also, how difficult is dropping the tank? Is there a DIY on the web? Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!
