rattle from front left suspension when turning right over bumps at low speeds
Hey Guys,
I searched on this one but got everything from broken CV boot to upper to lower ball joint, to tie rod ends and control arms. Not sure where to start.
Basically the subject says it all. I get a rattle from the front left at slow speeds while turning right and going over a bump (like into a driveway or something), as if something is loose or broken.
The lower CA's were replaced about 5k ago so I'm guessing its not those. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! '00 A4 2.8 avant.
thanks a bunch.
Andrew

You're on the right track...
But it could be almost anything that you noted. If you put the corner up on a stand you should be able to find looseness in the joints of end, the CV joint is harder, although most often I've had a bit of a "snapping" noise, like something is catching then releasing when they go out.

Check your brake pad spring clip. The brake pad can rattle in the caliper and make noise
I had it on my old A4. I mostly noticed it at low speeds and pulling into driveways. I re-bent the spring clip and it went away.
