That's the phone interface cable... not sure if the 98.5 has the changer cubby or not...
The changer interface cable is a round 13-pin DIN type connector and it's also in the same general area.

It must have been the 99.5 that first came with the cubby for the changer...
The tool kit, CD-Changer, and other assorted electronics all sit in a rack on the driver's side of the trunk.
