Default Did you torque the top bushings with the car on it's wheels?

If not, you need to, or else you will blow out the upper bushings.

Default No...

I didn't know you had to... Besides, how the heck can you fit a wrench in there???

I've been driving for only few days. Do you think they are already busted???

Default You should be fine, just try to get it done asap...

the best way to do it is to get them mostly tight, then set the car on the wheels on ramps, then tighten the bolts fully.. use 2 16mm wrenches..

Default You tighten them when they're off the car..

Bentley tells you exactly what angle to tighten them at.

You're right you can't get a wrench on them while the car is on it's wheels.

Default Re: Replaced upper control arms... and the next day they...

I replaced them yesterday it is a pain every 40,000 miles they have to replaced! It is an underdesigned configuration.

Default Underdesigned is an understatement...

Audi should be ashamed for creating such garbage. Because of things like that, I won't consider any other VW/Audi products in the future.
