Default Replacing Symphony 1 Headunit

Just purchased a new Eclipse Headunit and trying to wire it in place of Symphony 1 Headunit (2001 A4 non-bose).
Just have a couple of questions:
1. Do those 2 wires have anything to do with power antenna, and do i have a power antenna at all?

2. What the hell are a,b,and c??? I assume a is antenna; b and c - no clue???

Please help me out with this, I need to get my new H/U working by thursday because of the trip to south beach... any help will be appreciated...
One more question: What antenna adapter do i need to hook up stock antenna to the aftermarket headunit???

Thanks again

Nick

Default while I am not an expert on the Symphony heads...

I am almost certain you should NOT hook anything to the K pin. It's not a concern for my model year, but I know some dealers will refuse to hook their OBD systems to cars with aftermarket head units because of K wire issues. I don't believe either has to do with a power antenna. You should have either a wire antenna in your rear window (sedan) or a whip anntena on the rear roof (avant) and neither is powered.

all you need for the power antenna is the power antenna adaptor

Default My take...

I have the same model year as your car and installed an aftermarket deck. The best shop in town and I tried everything to plug the deck into the antenna and were unsuccessful. None of the adapters we tried would work so I ended up just buying an aftermarket antenna for $30 and problem solved. Reception is just as good if not better then stock. In this pic you can see the antenna just under the bottom of the windsheild. I would say just get an aftermarket antenna and be done with it. People must be getting sick of looking at this pic
