REPOST for the morning crowd:
So I just started the car to go to a nearby restaurant and first thing I noticed was some minimal shaking like some misfires. Then all of a sudden the whole car starts shaking like it's working on two cylinder. Under slight throttle it sounds like an STi. Ok, so I turn it off, recuperate and start it back again. Same thing!
Thinking it might be the coilpacks, I vag it and notice multiple cylinder misfires. I clear them and start the car back again. It starts shaking (I felt really bad keeping it on but I needed to check the codes again) and a few seconds later CEL starts blinking. 3 codes come back on, cylinder 4 misfire, multiple cylinder misfire and fuel too low (still have about 25 miles left). I switch coilpacks 3 and 4 and take both sparkplugs out. Cyl 4 spark plug is soaked in fuel and both of them are soo black unlike anything I've seen before (bkr6e at ~0.029).
I turn it back on again and same thing, car starts sputtering, shaking, sounds like an STi under slight throttle, etc. Codes are as follows:
VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N
Control Module Part Number: 4B0 906 018 P
Component and/or Version: 1.8L R4/5VT G 0006
Software Coding: 07201
Work Shop Code: WSC 06335
4 Faults Found:
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0300 - 35-00 - -
16688 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0304 - 35-00 - -
16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0302 - 35-00 - -
17658 - Fuel Level too Low
P1250 - 35-00 - -
Which I think has to do with something other than just a coilpack. I mean now cyl 2 misfires, cyl 4, and ex cyl 4 coilpack that is now in cyl 3.
What could the problem be? It's a 2000 K04 J31 program with stock coilpacks, Siemens Deka 310cc.
Thanks for reading,
Alen

It was suggested that the fuel sending unit may be false.

hehe not yet.
i will after work tonight or tomorrow morning.
i don't see how this could be the problem since there have been many other times when the car had even less gas. so you're saying that my fuel sending unit (whatever that is) is out?
i'm concerned because the two plugs i took out (and only 500miles old) were black as hell. also cyl 4 plug was wet with fuel.

no bov are you crazy? ;)
i will do that tonight sir and also check if ALL cylinders are misfiring. I just can't comprehend how all of the coilpacks would fail.

could be.
i know i have been (unintentionally) pushing it rather to the limit last two times.
but that gets into another discussion. I was always under the impression that the fuel pump was located on the bottom of the tank which would mean that all the crap on the bottom would get sucked anyways?

In an attempt to reduce cold start misfires, I reduced start up and warm up enrichment to 83.6%.....
