Reprogramming control module(small A4 content)

Can the control module be reprogrammed on the '99 Passat? If so, is it exactly like the A4? Thanks for the help, replies can be emailed to me if you prefer.

Yes, the control module on the Passat can be programmed, but it is diferent than for the A4. The Passat and the New Beetle ECUs are not as 'feature rich' as the Audi. There is no power window with the remote feature, but you can still control the horn sounding when arming/disarming, auto-lock of the doors at 15 mph, and selective unlocking.
