Hey folks, I have a rust bubble on the front passenger fender on my 97 A4. Pretty sure it was a rock chip that got out of hand. I took it to a body shop today and was quoted $600 to fix it. It seemed pretty nuts to me, as I was already planning on fixing it myself. I found the color match paint online (LOB9), and I found a very comprehensive guide on how to go about sanding it down and fixing it. Any tips about going about this?
Until I make the time to repair it, would it make sense to spray something like WD40 on the rust spot to keep it from getting worse?
