S4 Wheel Liner question
The FAQ suggests cutting the S4 liner and the old liner and frankensteining them into one liner. This is because the trailing edge of the S4 liner is made to go with the side skirts - which I don't have.
Wouldn't it be easier to trim the bottom of the S4 liner to match the profile of the A4 liner instead of trying to connect two pieces together?
Any help appreciated, I'm going to tackle tomorrow.
Mark

I've done this mod on 2 of my A4s.....and....
I didn't cut or splice anything. I think the liner fits in just fine without any modification, so on my '98.5 and my '00 I have installed the liner directly.
You can follow the FAQ if you want the perfect OEM look, but I'm too lazy to do all that.

Trust me it won't look as good as the Frankenstein act does...
it simply amazes me how many people have resisted the frakenliner approach...heck that's about 75% of the FAQ...had I know it would have been a lot easier to exclude that section.
Anyhow to answer your question...no it won't look stock IMHO the only way to do it right is to do it as I describe in the FAQ It doesn't really take that long to perform the operation...maybe 2 hours or so if you're a real slug...so chin up...get out the X-Acto and soldering iron and have at it.

I did this last night!
I did both liners last night. That whole frankenstein method is NOT needed. I took out the old, laid it on top of the S4 liner and traced the shape.(it's about 1cm all around the bottom round edge) Then installed the S4 liner. Fits perfectly.Good Luck

Why did you do both liners, the A4 only has a drivers side intercooler...
the reason why an S4 has both liners vented is because there is an intercooler on EACH side for each turbo. I think you spent extra money and time just to ventilate the bottom of the air box!
