Sad day guys...
I am parting ways with my beloved 96 A4 later today. I decided that a 12v automatic was just not fun enough for me any more. I bought the car 4 years ago when I was a sophomore in college, it had 111k miles then. I purposely stayed away from the 1.8T just so I wouldn't be tempted to modify it. A few months after I got the car I found this place and I learned that I might be able to do some of my own maintenance. I started slow, and with a few people I met from the midwest forum we changed the control arms and all four shocks. I finally became comfortable doing work by myself and I have since changed all 4 wheel bearings, timing belt, and several other things. To make a long story short, this place is great.
This is what it looks like as I am going to sell it today, minus the wheels. I am selling it for $5,200 with the stock wheels. It has 155k miles, not too bad IMO.

But on the brighter side, I have already got a replacement for it. I actually got it 3 weeks ago and have been driving it since. It is a 2001.5 PES T-28 A4 with Koni coilovers, APR exhaust, and a couple of other goodies, including a manual trans. It has 55k miles and the timing belt was replaced by the PO right before he sold it.
I got it for $12.5k which I think is a pretty good deal.

So in short, I won't be leaving here for a while.
Thanks for reading.

Runs like a bat out of hell, especially after 3700 RPM. But this is coming from somebody that used
to drive a 12v automatic
It idles a little rough, but from what I have read, the green top injectors don't run right with DBW cars. I am going to take it to Imagine Auto, a place that mainly tunes porsches, to look at the GIAC software and try and sort it out.
But in short, I love it.

I love that car and hate to see it to go.
The 12v is great for reliability, but not so good for performance.
Even with 155k it still got 30mpg at 75-80 mph when I did a 400 mile trip.
