Sad day for my wife and I - we just had to put our young kitten down :(
Basically "Otis" had a disease that would best be described as cat's AIDS. Over the last month he's lost weight, thinned up quite a big, became very inactive and slept 23 out of 24 hours a day. He lost a lot of his strength, had gum disease, and some teeth fell out. Bloodwork from the begining of the week came back today highly positive for Feline Infectious Peritonitis, caused by the Feline Coronavrius.
We now hope that "Pita", our 2-1/2 year old cat remained immune to this and nothing develops. It's bad enough to lose one of your pets, but to lose all of them.....
Here are some pictures in memory of Otis, some with Pita as well.
(I posted this because I know there are several cat owners on this forum, as well as general pet
lovers.... sorry for the OT post, but I'm pretty bummed out right now.)

Awwww, so sorry... he was SUCH a cute kitten.
Pita's pretty too, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Looks almost like a cougar in that pic where she's delivering that left hook across Otis' nose. :-)

I don't think there is one. No proven cure exist, just experimental drugs. (m)
It was a really, really tough decision to put him down now. The other option was to try experimental drugs, but I couldn't stand the thought of subjecting him to more suffering and all the side effects. He's in a better place right now, I hope, with no pain... no agony...
