For Sale: OEM Exhaust. $1 + shipping (APR installed today)
That's right -- I got my APR exhaust system installed this morning !
SWEET !! :-)
Now I don't know what to do with the OEM exhaust.
I was thinking of giving it to my dealer tomorrow when I go for my 35k service.
But if anyone wants the stock muffler/exhaust system, just let me know.
Concerning the APR, I haven't gotten to drive it much yet, since I JUST got it put on.
It is supposed to be a simple bolt-on upgrade.
But my unit came with the wrong fitting on one pipe. So the shop had to do a little bit of trimming & welding to install the exhaust.
Stephen @ APR was gracious enough to refund my credit card $40 which is the additional labor charge that I had to pay the shop.
(I saved the piece that had to be trimmed off as proof -- I don't want anybody making fradulent claims to APR.)
Anyway, the system definitely looks nice. The tailpipes are rather big. At idle, and up to 2k RPM, it is a bit louder and "throatier" than stock. But above 2k, it actually does not sound much louder at all.
The response is also much more linear -- there is no more "kick in the butt" feel of the turbo.
But the speed is definitely there. I notice it when I step on the brakes mostly -- I have to stomp much harder to stop, because I was going faster, even if it was not that obvious to my butt.
I'm going to make some excuses to go out driving.
And I'll post some follow-up opinions if anything changes.
Cheers,
Peter
