I noticed that the available colors listed on the AudiUSA website recently changed. Santorin blue, Cactus green, and several other colors changed from "Mica" to "Pearl Effect". Anyone know whether this is just a name change? My dealer was quite surprised by this, and pointed out that the White Pearl Effect color is currently a $1200 option, and soon to be discontinued.

I looked at the color codes that someone posted last week and they looked about the same. I didn't actually compare them to the old color codes, but if you're curious, the old ones are on my web page. I believe that the colors are identical. My 98 1.8TQM is Santorin Blue, and my dealer sold me an OEM touch-up kit. The Germans appear to refer to the Mica finish as 'Pearl-effect,' as that is what the touch-up kit is labelled.
