Seems like the only time I write anything on here is when I need help... So here is another one.....
I was driving my car last night and noticed that the rear end seemed REALLY lose. Plus when ever I hit a bump I hear this squeeking noise. So I got out of my car and pushed on my rear wheel and it moved in about in inch each time I pused on it. I took off the tire and pushed on the rotor and it moved about 1/4 inch and made the same squeeking noise that I hear when I hit a bump. I just had the bearings repacked and can't figure out what I should check next. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
By the way I have a 96 2.8 Non-quattro.

Yes I did, the tube that you said was missing was there but I was missing a huge steel washer ....
That sits on the bottom stop and then a big rubber bushing sits on it. Every thing is perfect witht the suspension. Now I have this new problem. By the way thanks for the help with getting the rear suspension off. It was a lot easier that I thought it was and your description was very helpful.

Glad you got it fixed.......
I wish I had done the spring/shock install myself originally. The shop that did it acted like it was really difficult and it took them all day. They also dented the rear fenders with they're hand bouncing the car up and down trying to figure out what the noise was. They paid to have the dents fixed. If you want anything done right, you have to do it yourself... Don't know about your new problem. I would check the suspension bushings for play.
