Sending my ECU in on Monday for APR 1.0 bar...anyone want to stop me?
I have heard tremendously great things about the chip obviously from searching the forum and not by asking the idiotic "what's the better chip?" in a thread. I want to know if anyone has any comments to make against chipping my car, 2001 1.8TQ tip, sport. I do not intend to mod it in any other way. I am looking forward to a boost in power from chipping the car but my reservations still lie in what risks I bring to my car by chipping it. So to all you experts out there, and def. those who have the chip installed in a similar model, is it worth it (not in terms of performance, because thats obvious, moreso in any hidden maintenance costs, problems caused by chip)? And when I my car in 3 years or so, am I gonna be kicking myself in the butt for performing the mod because of difficulties in selling the car with the chip?
I would really appreciate the input, I have gone through the pros and cons in my head over and over for the past week and I would just like to see if I can get some advice from the best sources out there.
Thanks,
Nick

Just hurry up and send it.
no real drawbacks at all. Just dont tell your dealer, he may choose to be a ***** in regard to your warranty. If you dont tell him, he probably wont be able to tell, unless he opens the CPU cover.
You wont regret it !

a couple of other things you'll need...
i see no problems with chipping. but you'll need a bpv, as the stock one will not handle the increased boost. also you should get a chip for the trans. giac makes one iirc.

BPV not essentual. I'm still running my stock, but will change it shortly, and its onl US$35.
As for the Tranny, again not essentual, but a nice extra option to take.
Chip it now, and address this later, unless you got spare $ now
But yes, all very good notes.

Audi Dealer, its the TT BPV

I had a 710 (no N or A after it) from stock
so I think that PN is a little bit more hardy than some of the earlier models. I assume you have an earlier A4 ?
This chap has a 2001, so I again "Assume" he has a 710 too ? Stikll worth replacing, but it should last for a little while.
