Default Shock Absorber Reccomendation

Hey-
What kind of shock absorbers do you guys reccomend for my 98.5 A4Q? I'm looking for a sport tuned shock, but not a track suspesnion (it's a road car). I've been lookin at Koni's and Bilstein's, but www.tirerack.com doesn't list any Bilstein's for the Audi's.

On a related note, does anybody have any experience with the car lowering kits which bind two links of the spring together to shorten the spring?

Thanks,
Brian

Default Messing with the springs isn't a good idea.

The spring needs to be able to oscillate freely. Using something like what you're describing will only allow the springs to rebound up to point X, beyond which they reach a hard stop. The resulting ride could feel like the front of the car is "hopping" into dips and valleys in the road.

Do yourself a favor and abandon the idea of messing around with the springs. If you want a lower ride, either get a shock with an adjustable spring perch, and/or get springs designed to lower the car.

Default I love my Koni Coilovers. I had to upgrade the rear swaybar though.

The sway bar takes care of body roll with out changing the ride comfort.

Default You won't be disappointed with a Bilstein/Eibach combo

We carry the Bilstein Sports for $455/set and the Eibach Pro-Kits for $250/set for the A4Q

http://www.pro-imports.com/cart.php</a
