Default I would certainly be more concerned with getting the correct springs than the shocks

Unless you got a really low mileage set of OEM shocks for a very good price I would just get a set of Bilsteins and be done with it. It's a better shock out of the box than the OEM shock is, you'll have a full warranty and if you plan on keeping the car for a long time you won't have to worry about the OEM shocks getting bouncy at 50K.
Also I use the OEM sport rear bar with the stock non-sport front. I like the balance better this way and an aftermarket rear bar with sport front is about the last thing on my list right now.

Default Interesting...

Yes I have OEM sport springs and got a good deal on the OEM sport shocks. I have H&R sports and Bilstein sports in the car now, I love the handling but hate the ride. I used to track the car but as I have 90,000 mikes on it, I don't plan on any more track days and I'll be looking for a new ride within the next 12 months. Also I wanted to bring the car back to near stock for resale.

Thanks for the input though.

Default so what you are trying to say is you're getting old? too hard of a ride? is that possible?

I assumed you were looking for a cheap upgrade, not a down grade. From what I've read here I don't believe the OEM shocks are going to be significantly softer than the Bilsteins. I don't know anything about the HR springs but based on experience from another car I had I would bet that the OEM sport springs will be less harsh. Also what sways do you have in now? Sway bars do affect the ride. So maybe the ideal is to keep the B's and use the OEM springs with a stock non-sport bar upfront and a sport in back. Very similar to what I have in my car. Very respectable handling and the ride only get's rude over really bad roads.

Default Ok you got me..

Yes I am getting old. I am putting a OEM sport setup back in the car, so I guess you could call that a downgrade. I already have the oem front and rear sway bars in.

Next car may be a MB C240 or C320 or, If my wife has anything to say (not) a Ford Escape.
