and the car still started right up. DAMN, I LOVE THIS CAR!!! 'course the car is only 2 days old so the battery is full. Have to remember to turn off lights when I get to work.

Default Actually this is not surprising...

because the car is smarter than you :-) As soon as you turn off the ignition, it turns off the headlights and leaves only the parking lights on. That's the way all German cars work.<p>Basically, you had the parking lights on for 4.5 hours, which is 4 bulbs 7W each, and pretty much any beat up battery should be able to handle that.<p>- Stan<p>

I actually like Subaru's stand on the lighting. When you turn off the ignition, all the lights go out. If you need the parking lights with the ignition off, there is a separate switch that you can purposely turn on. It's much easier to remember to turn them on when you need them, than to turn them off after daylight appears.<p>G. Hale<br>'98.5 2.8 QMSX

Default My headlights are off when the engine is off..

I can't operate the headlights unless the engine is running. Only parking lights stay on.
