Roof racks, that is!

I'm looking at getting a Thule roof rack and snowboard/ski carrier, but want to make sure I understand this correctly.

I need to first get the Thule roof rack system. There is the regular system and the rapid aero system, what is the difference and is the aero system worth the extra price? And then I want the Thule Universal Flat Top 6 so I can carry up to 4 snowboards.

I also need to get a fairing, correct?

Is there anything else I would need? What do the locks actually secure?

Info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Default I personally am anti roof rack. Ski sock and minimum of passengers FTW...

And I can't help you with the snowboards as that is the wrong way to be doing it.

<says that out loud as I type this and gets random things thrown at him by snowboarding coworkers>

Default Ski sock is too small for 3 snowboards, even too small for 1 IIRC

and I too was a skier for 15-16 years, but last december I went snowboarding for the first time and I have been converted.

At least for the forseeable furture.

Default sorry that was mostly sarcastic. If you must get a roof rack I'd go with Thule

(pronounced: Too'ley) Used to love when people would call the bike shop looking for Thhh-ool racks.

Anyway, main reason is I like the rectangular load bars over the round ones on Yakima racks...

Default I found the fairing just makes more noise.

Default Thule... with aero feet, to help wind noise... also get the fairing or else the bars are loud!

Default the fairing feet have foam pads on the end if you read the instructions...

its the bar's feet that screw up the paint
