Slight problem after doing rear fog mod ...... :-(
ok .. so I am doing my rear for mod ... and fter I am done .. EVERYTHING work fine ! BUT .. one problem .. the lower screw closest to the trunk opening ... I tightened it too much and it broke.
So the light is held by 3 screws now ... is this a potential problem ... it seems turdy enuff .. all the lights work .. and the mod was a success ... butone of the screw thingys broke
I don't see it as THAT big a problem since the fixture is not moving as much ... any insight ?

I'd leave it til next time you're at the dealer. For peace of mind, then just get another screw.
I've busted tons of the little plastic screw caps on motorcycle batteries by tightening too much by hand!

You broke the threaded stud itself or you broke it out of the lamp housing?
The stud is course threaded into the plastic of the lamp housing( I know cause I pulled one out when I swapped mine). If you broke the stud itself
grab whats left (if you can) with some pliers and unscrew it from the plastic counter clockwise. I doubt you can get it from the dealer , probably have to get whole lamp housing. If you get it out and want I have one.

The actual threaded metal part broke ....
so I can take the actual part out and replace it with another plastic threading ? I don't get u ...
OK ... so ... the metal part broke ... some of the metal thread is still attached ot the tail light housing ... does that explain it ?
