So disconnecting the faulty ABS module electrical plug allowed me to use VagCom and communicate with
the main car ECU. I did find in the READINESS section the following.
Evaporative Emissions: FAILED OR INCOMPLETE
No other error codes or warnings at all. I need to smog the car and now that they can communicate with the ECU I'm assuming they'll find the evaporative emissions issue. Any thoughts dudes ?
Thanks in advance...

ModuleMaster is a good place for getting the abs electronics fixed.

Perhaps a better question is...
What exactly is the READINESS section trying to tell me vs. doing actual scans for error codes? I find VagCom poorly layed out and cryptic. I hope it looses it's "programmer" interface some day with a future update.

Final outcome is.... I PASSED SMOG
Disconnecting the ABS electrical plug allowed myself as well as the smog shop to communicate with the ECU. I did the usual 15 minute 'spirited' drive to heat up the engine before taking it in. Passed easily....I don't know if the READINESS Emissions Fail/Incomplete flag will still pop up on VagCom or not but at this point.......... I don't care.
Thanks for the help/info Dudes.....
