for a split second and then the "oil" light came on. I thought this was very strange because I just changed the oil like 400 miles ago. I go and check the oil and there is plenty in there...totally full. I get back in the car and the light is now off. And ideas? Just a glitch?

2nd that....
I think one of the real weak points of the 1.8, are the oil pumps. This is especially true if anyone has maintained their car by the factory maintenance schedule. After 60k , the result of the infrequent oil changes and sludge really starts to show. I still love the cars though.

Agree with the others...
clogged pick up screen or failing oil pump. Definitely not normal to see that light, unless you're really low on oil. I would plan on replacing the oil pump before this grenades your motor. Don't drive it until you find the source of the problem.
I would also echo Modified's questions. Are you the only owner? How often have you changed the oil, and how long have you had it? Synthetic or dino?
