So if a part fails because of a directly connected recalled part, should the failed part be covered?

Default So if a part fails because of a directly connected recalled part, should the failed part be covered?

My ignition spring broke, took my car to the dealer, car was driving fine, now after fixing my ignition my starter doesn't work. The ignition was recalled because it can burn out the starter.

They refused to cover the starter initially, but once I called AOA and they called the dealer, they agreed to cover only 25% of the repair. Still $600 or so to fix it.

Shouldn't it be covered not only because it died while in the dealer's presence (not sure if they did something wrong or not), and also because it's the whole point of recaling the ignition?

I would think AT LEAST 50% since I don't know if it's coincidence, or if they did something wrong.

Default turn this around for them

if a part fails directly related to an aftermarket add on they will void your warranty for that related part. therefore a part recalled that is directly related to teh part that broke should be replaced for free. no 25% crap.
