so my brakes are squeeking really bad when i am driving slowly/at the end of a stop.
I had them checked and the mechanic said they look like they have 75% of the pad left, but that the noise is probably a result of the pad getting heated and glazed in a spot (from braking quickly, which has happened numerous times). First is the glazed spot thing possible? Is there anything I can do to stop the noise or is it time to get new pads? And how are mintex red box as far as noise, brake dust etc.

I've been running Mintex Red Box since 99' - low dust - no noise
but they are not a pad for running hard with your car.
Suggest you try cleaning and greasing the caliper pins - so the caliper mechanism - pads move easily. Then put antisqueal blue on the back of the pads - this helps pull them away from the rotors when retracted.

If you are running OEM pads - they do not squeal at all unless something is wrong
so please look into the items I listed.
But if you are not running the car that hard Mintex have been a great pad for me.
