Default Someone has.

AudiGeek is on here everyone in a while. He's an actual mechanic with Audi, I think I either spoke to him on here, or on the phone, he was calling about something, but I dont remember the details.

He has a 6speed S4 Tranny in his B5 Audi.

One side matched up ok, but the other side had to have custom created shims to get it on there correct. This guy was an Audi Certified Mechanic so he had access to all of audi's parts, and he could do it.

I have never seen any pictures or anything, but its "possible" but not something I'd really wanna do.

The new VW 1.8's and the one in the GTI337 all have 6 speeds as well.

Default .

Well you gotta look at the origins, its an AWD sedan, the tranny is going to be good for snow and making use of the AWD.

yes, but low gear ratios without extra power = very poor acceleration.

Default Well, I'd expect a better fit from at least the same generation chassis...

but I could be wrong. I don't know what has change with the B6 chassis and trans placement, but I'd think a B5 S4 would be closer match than a VW or B6.

I would think a B6 transmission would be equally difficult
