Some ruminations on loaner cars, as mine is in the shop this morning.
They SUCK.
My baby is in for a turbo pressure check; so I walk out with a Jetta for the day. With auto.
For those concerned with VW giving some neat things to the VW line and not the Audi line, it's clear that the implementation stinks. THe jettta has auto locking doors, but they sound like someone's using a 6 pound sledge hammer to push the locks down. Vacuum activation rules.
The lights turn off with the ignition, something I just don't understand why its also not on the Audi's. Perhaps a FAQ for the future.
AC feels MUCH better. I guess that's where all the engine power goes, driving a 2 ton copacity compressor pump.
I put MY car into stock setting via the EMCS APR chip. MAN I'm addicted to POWER of this thing. The Jetta is a downright slug. I got beat out at a light by of all things, an ASPIRE!

Good points...
Thanks for the pointers. While I am saving for an A4, I keep thinking maybe I can save some dough if I go with a Jetta / Passat - same 1.8T engine. I always come back to the A4, it seems to be the little nuiances that do it. The way the doors close, how solid it feels, quattro, engine responsiveness, warranty, etc...well worth the incremental costs!
As for loaner cars - they are designed with the sole purpose to make your service experiences as uncomfortable as humanly possible. Although you got a good car (Jetta). In the past I have a a Suzuki something, an Aertostar, a GrandAm, and a Neon...nothing but crap.
