Sound like MAF to you? (long)
So now that I put an exhaust on the car and air is much more free-flowing, it has exposed the next weakest link in the car. The car has been going in and out of limp mode for the past week now.
Symptoms are:
- Check engine light accompanied by a lean code the first 2 times.
- Check engine light accompanied by EVAP purge valve code the 3rd time. (Purge valve was also pulsating when in limp mode, led me to believe this was the problem initially.)
- Car is currently in limp mode with no check engine light and no codes thrown now.
I am not even getting 100 gm/s at any point in throttle, whether the car is in limp mode or normal mode. I should be seeing around 135 gm/s at 6,000rpm in 3rd gear at WOT... I'm lucky to get 100 in normal mode, limp mode is pretty much the same.
Does this sound like the MAF or could something else possibly be causing this?
Car is a 2001 1.8tqm with APR 91 chip, Forge DV, and full 2.5" exhaust with high-flow cat.

I tried swapping for a MAF a friend had that I knew was good. But actually...
I think the problem was that a vac line off the intake manifold had popped off. I didn't even notice it, lol. Hopefully that fixes everything.
