Spring is coming. My wallet is starting to feel the threat of coilovers, CA's, tires, FMIC and
A much bigger turbo.
After the inspection of the K03S and K04 turbo I posted carnage pics of a couple weeks ago I think I can not justify putting one in my car.
The Eliminator turbos are tempting but I am afraid they may have the same issue with the exhaust wheel since they still use a small exhaust housing like the KK's? Has anyone used one of the Eliminators for a while and then checked or seen if there is any burning off of the tips on the turbine?
I am not crazy about going with a true GT turbo and having to run a V-band exhaust or otherwise turning that all around to make it work.
OK, last thoughts = I could go with a K04 hooked to either a ATP free(er) flowing manifold, or a ported/polished stocker and also use a high flow cat to help keep the exhaust temps down. Those things coupled with a good FMIC should keep the temps down so the turbine will hold up... in theory.
I would think an exhaust gas temp gauge would be a very smart idea to mount in the dash matching the boost gauge.
My car needs a fair bit of stuff..... But its value is crap now for all practical purposes so i may as well mod the %#%^& out of it and drive it. Either dump $3-4,000+ or so into it and have a fun car, or dump the same $$ into another car and still have the desire to mod that one!! ;-)

The '02 or the '66 ? ;-)
Either way..... nope.
The '66 needs nothing and is to stay original.
The '02 is teh wifey's car........ she will not let me fuss with it. (But she does let me "maintain it"....... hmmmm..... it needs a new supercharger pulley and ECU honey-bunn.

I don't think that's an S. So no. ;) This one is still original... not cut up. But yeah, sort of.

Our car was actually used for rally racing for a brief time in it's early days, but was "saved" and has been owned by my father-in-law for over 25 years or so. It lives in my shop and comes out on nice summer days to go to a show or two..... and gets a good "scalding" now and then! Fun, fun fun.

Yes I did. I had a Petit Paint rep stop by yesterday and talked to him a bit.......
I'll email you in a little bit about it. Sorry to be so long!
I need to get to the shop and write down the names and prices of the stuff. I have a list for you with prices I could sell you the stuff for. I'd be happy to sell it at my cost plus actual shipping if that helps you out.
Doug.
