Well, I put my car up on ramps and climbed under it while I had my wife turn the wheels slightly. Using a high tech listening device (a hose), I traced the squeak to the passenger side rear lower control arm ball joint. Curiously, this got very noisy after a recent car wash that sprayed the underbody.

Is this the sign of a bad ball joint? Or was I hearing things and it's really the bushing.

Any idea on cost of replace the rear LCA?
