Default St-st-st-stuttering problem SOLVED.

Cyl. 2 misfire said the VAG-COM. So we swapped coilpacks....still, it said Cyl. 2 misfire. So then we swap #1 and #2 plugs. Then we got misfire counts in 1, 2, and 3...most in 1. Hmmmm. So then I switch all my plugs for Jaime's--problem solved. Re-gap the Denso's to ~.030" and that did the trick.

The plugs have been in since Christmas, probably almost 10K miles on them. Interesting how it just started happening.

At any rate, I'm just glad it wasn't a bad coilpack.

Default Have no clue...? Why would it matter, I only ran them for about 2 minutes.

He's got those NGKs that apparently cost about $80 for 4!!! And I thought $60 for the Densos was steep.

I was thinking the same thing - Jaime has the S3 platinum NGKs right?

Default I think they are ... It wouldn't hurt anything .. just if they were too cold they'd eventually fail

to clean and likely foul. I was just thinking 'aloud'. I would have tried a plug swap too but I don't think I would have used a colder heat range unless the existing plugs were showing signs of running too hot.

Default Yah.. ngk's. yah the weirdest thing. I was looking with my vag-com

On andy's car counting misfires. I think I saw it go as high as 89 misfires in that second cyl. I was like woah!? in a short burst in 2nd gear.

But when andy put my plugs in his car we saw no misfires at all. Then he regapped his and his misfire went away.

What's the correct gapping on andy's plugs? he gapped them right?

thanks, jaime

Default IIRC the Denso's do better in a chipped car @ .030" or .032". I *think* they ship at over .040 ..

they tend to misfire at WOT - high load at that wide a gap .. in a chipped car anyway. I ran them, IK20's, before I upgraded to the Stage III. After a bit they did the same thing. IIRC others have noted similar issues at the wider gap.

Default Water was very cool .. under 45 degrees so the fishing was a little .. slow .. babe catching was a

little slower still. It snowed . .around 9-10 inches over a couple of days which didn't help on either the fishing or trolling for babes. I am heading to Vermont for a long weekend the 23rd and am confident the trolling will be better there
