Stalling A4
I recently changed my battery(99 A4) Since changing the batter the car will not run. It would start up and stall. The only way to keep running was to press the gas pedal. As soon as you let go it would stall. I got onto audizine forums and posted the problem. Some guys gave suggestions. None of which worked, actually seemed to make it worse. Now the car wont start at all. One of the suggestions was to disconnect the negative connector. This what was said " Probably need the Throttle body re-aligned.If you do not have access to VAG-com, the easiest way is to remove the neg battery terminal for half hour. Reconnect it and switch on the ignition, but DO NOT start the car. Leave it like that for around 3 mins,switch off and restart, that should do it iirc" Since doing that no luck at all. I hooked up VAG COM to my car and the fault code 17953- Throttle Valve Contoller - Malfunction. I then tried to adapt the ecm back to the basic settings. Now there are 2 new fault codes(17967+17973) and the previous fault code is not showing. Not sure what my next step is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
