stealership called today...they're saying its my ECU *edit*
The guy called today and said that the car will run fine at times but start to run rough again. He told me that my ECU could have shorted out. He said 2 spark plugs were burnt really really badly(I changed them like 2 months ago). He asked me if I chipped the car...I havent but I thought dealers could tell. They said they have already put 3hrs into the car and havent found the problem yet. Does a bad coil pack show these symptoms?? I would think that that would be one of the first things they would check.
Anyone have anything to say about Langan Audi in Schenectady??
*edit* just called and he said that when they rev the engine up and it drops below around 2k they start getting misfires on all all cylinders. They checked the coil packs and theyre fine. He also said that 2 prongs on a spark plug were missing...how bad is that??

post from yesterday

Sounds fishy
I don't understand how they could tell you that the plugs look burnt without noticing that prongs were missing. Yes - that would be bad b/c the prongs are conceivably in the chamber. Ask them what error codes were showing up when they hooked it up to their VAG.
If it is a bad plug, the error code for a misfire would have registered and that should have been the first thing they checked!
My bet is still a bad ignition module. When mine went bad, I had intermittent misfires on cyl #2. This is due to a poor soldering job and the connection was loose in the module. If this is the case, the dealer will charge you $400 for the part plus the 3+ hours of labor.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/2162439.phtml</a
