It's more of a 'rattling' thump... It occurs mostly while go at slow speeds (or at least rattle-thumps at a rate that's easier to hear loudly?), and occurs mostly while turning...

I've replaced both tie-rod ends about 2 months ago - didn't fix it. I replaced the sway bar links (c-links) on the weekend - also didn't fix it.

When I was cranking the wrench on the bolt for the link, it SEEMED like I was able to twist the control arm rather easily (the bushings were spongy I guess?). Is that normal, or should they have been VERY stiff? I'm just running out of stuff to check/replace (the control arms were inspected awhile ago, and one was replaced while I was still under Audi Assurance, but I have now run out of that).

perhaps I'll record some audio clips? would that help?

(fyi the car is a 99.5 1.8T quattro 5 spd, and I currently have the stock sport suspension on it, with around 75,000 miles on)

Im going to take some crap apart right now. I just took it to a machanic and he thought it was the ball joints? Mine squeaks when I turn my wheel and rattles hitting the tiniest little bump.
