Default Stolen Headlight Question:

Not sure about other places, but up here in the Boston area people have been stealing headlights in both A4 and S4's by pulling them out the front.

Yesterday I went to drive my girls BMW 330 and noticed a wire hanging down in the front passenger side wheel well. When I looked closer, it appeared as if the plastic molding around the tire had been pulled away from the body of the car. Upon further examination, I noticed a 4 x 6 in. area of plastic was broken. Her turn-signal on that side is out too.

When I asked her about it she said it had been like that for about a week but she doesnt remember hitting any HUGE pot holes or running into any curbs or snow banks. She said she brought it to the dealer to have them check it out and they said it is around 300 bucks.

Has anyone ever heard of xenons/lights being stolen from behind or people pulling the plastic molding out in the wheel-well to get to the light housing?

I would be pretty pissed but better that then the whole car.

My ex's whole car was stolen for her stereo. They gutted it out and left the car.

People popping out headlight housings are trying to steal the HID's. Don't know if you guys remember, but there was a stint of thefts off the TL's and Maxima's which have stock xenons. The whole housing would pop right out.

That thing with the bimmer is just wierd though. there was a 4x6 cutout from the plastic in the wheel well?

Happens all the time in and around NYC, especially to Acura and Maxima owners with HIDs. I would love to actually catch one of these cretins and introduce their sphincter to my boot.
