stripped bolt
I was trying to unbolt the drive axle from the tranny (six bolts - the manual says the torque rating on them should be either 30 or 59 ft-lbs - which isn't that much) and ended up stripping one of the bolts pretty badly. I had my transmission swapped about a year ago and the guy apparently put loc-tite on, for a reason only he knows.
Anyway - anyone got any advice on how to get the bolt out? Still trying to swap my wheel bearing out, btw.

There's a special tool...
Craftsman's Bolt-Out bolt/nut remover should work. They come in a 5 piece set. And use some Liquid Wrench or other penetrating oil before you try again.

Re: There's a special tool...
I tried using liquid wrench and WD40 before. I also used a butane torch to heat the bolt up - to get rid of the loc-tite.
I managed to loosen all other bolts, but this one is stripped beyond hope. One thing I'm considering is, it seems that perhaps a torx key might help - because the bolt doesn't have flat surfaces on the inside, they're triangular. So perhaps it will accomodate a torx bit - or perhaps a larger screwdriver.
Where can I get a new axle bolt?
